Abstract

The increasing participation of women in professional sectors like banking has introduced significant socio-economic shifts, especially in developing countries such as Pakistan. This study explores how dual work responsibilities affect job burnout and performance among women employees in the banking sector of District Okara. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study investigates how professional commitments affect social life, the strategies employed to maintain work-life balance, the extent of organizational support, and the best practices followed by banks. A sample of 300 female banking professionals was surveyed, while 20 were selected for in-depth interviews. Findings indicate that social interactions and personal relationships are significantly compromised by work demands. However, women employ strategies such as time management, prioritization, and seeking familial support to cope. Organizational support remains limited and inconsistent. The study proposes best practices for enhancing work-life balance and mitigating job burnout among female banking professionals.
