Abstract

More importantly, past research has comparatively little focused on the link between sustainability performance and Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices and that a mediation hypothesis directed towards this industry sector (hospitality) has yet to emerge. To address this gap, we expand Ability-Motivation-Opportunity (AMO) theory to investigate both indirect and direct associations of GHRM practices with sustainability performance. Nothing exists about how GHRM impacts sustainability performance of organizations. The main objective of this study is to examine the mediating effect of Organizational Citizenship Behavior for the Environment (OCBE) in their relationship. As the hospitality industry contains mostly of medium and small hotels, it is one of the industries that have major environmental issues primarily energy conservation, water management and waste management. Basic environmental problems like greenhouse effect, soil pollution, air and water pollution species extinction and natural resource depletion are major harms to the invaders. The quantitative research method was can easily gain insight into social aspects of data making the matters associated with hospitality sector deeper. The study obtained data from a random sample of 196 employees with different hotel chains, and the analysis was performed using SPSS. GHRM practices lead to a positive and significant effect on SP with OCBE helping as a moderator.
